Eduardo Aguin, MD MPH FACOG

Dr. Eduardo Aguin is a board-certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology through the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He completed his residency training at Wayne State University in 2012 at the Detroit Medical Center, followed by advanced training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (high-risk obstetrics) at the University of Michigan.
With more than 20 years of experience in women’s healthcare and delivering babies, Dr. Aguin is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to every patient. Born and raised in Venezuela, he earned his medical degree from the University of Carabobo in 2003. During his medical education, he received several Excellence Awards and served as a teaching assistant while also pursuing postgraduate studies in Public Health.
Dr. Aguin is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He holds medical licenses in both Florida and Michigan and has worked in several well-known hospitals across both states. In addition to his clinical expertise, he has extensive research experience in high-risk obstetrics, with multiple publications and research presentation awards.
Dr. Aguin has also served in academic medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties, and at Florida State University in the Department of Medicine Sarasota.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Medical Association.
Driven by a passion for delivering babies and performing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, Dr. Aguin founded Lotus Women’s Health in 2023. His mission is to provide the highest level of personalized care to women in the community, treating every patient with the same compassion and respect he would offer his own family.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Aguin enjoys spending time with his wife, son, daughter, family, and friends. He loves learning about new cultures and exploring new places. You may also find him running, cycling, or playing sports around the Lakewood Ranch area.

Angie Scarpa

Angela “Angie” Scarpa is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with a passion for women’s health and bringing new life into the world. Originally from Chicago, Angie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of South Florida. She spent 13 years working as a Labor and Delivery nurse, where she developed a deep love for caring for women and families during one of life’s most meaningful moments.

Driven by her passion for obstetrics and patient-centered care, Angie continued her education at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her Master’s degree and became a Certified Nurse Midwife and ARNP. She has been practicing as a midwife since 2015 and is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to every patient she serves.

Angie believes that supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond is both an honor and a privilege. She is passionate about creating a warm and supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and cared for like family.


Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Tony, and their three sons, Nick, Tony, and Johnny. She is a devoted sports fan and loves cheering on her favorite Chicago teams, including the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago Bulls.


In her free time, Angie enjoys cruising, golfing, boating, fishing, exercising, shopping, and making lasting memories with her family and friends.

HOLLI ASKREN MSN, ARNP, CNM

Holli Askren has dedicated more than 30 years to women’s healthcare and delivering babies. She is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees.


Throughout her career, Holli has cared for both low- and high-risk patients, providing comprehensive women’s healthcare including prenatal care, labor and delivery support, well-woman exams, and menopausal care. She is passionate about delivering evidence-based care and is committed to helping every patient feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout every stage of life.


Originally from Michigan, Holli has called Florida home since 1980, with a brief time living in Arizona during the early 2000s. Her warm and compassionate approach to patient care reflects her deep love for women’s health and family-centered medicine.


Outside of work, Holli enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. She loves reading, relaxing at the beach, hiking, and cheering on the Florida Gators.
